Genesis

Prior to posting any content I would like to describe a little about myself, what drove me to start this blog and to explain my objectives for the blog.

I am someone that has a love for information and knowledge.  From a young age I have been interested in learning why things in the world operate as they do.  For most of my young life, this curiosity was directed mainly towards the natural sciences, however, as I grew older I began to take a greater interest in the social institutions of man.  While attending college, the study of economics and politics became my passion and since then I have been following their effects on current events in the world. With the beginning of the financial crisis I studied every piece of information I could find about its causes and its potential implications.  It is with my intensive study of the financial crisis that I began to see that many of the major obstacles to addressing the crisis were part of major power structures of America.  During the crisis it became apparent that the quality of information on many finance blogs greatly exceeded any of their traditional media counterparts.   While reading these blogs I began to notice stomething which is what has driven me to create this blog; many topics of huge importance were not being covered by the mainstream media.  While there was a large public debate over the spending in the TARP program, the Federal Reserve made financial guarantees backed by the American public for sums of money which makes the $700 billion of TARP pale in comparison.

You will find several types of postings on this blog relating to politics and economics with current events being the major driver of postings.  Some postings will be a compilation of related current event topics with analysis tying them together and explaining their importance.  I will also on occasion post links to other articles that I find to be high quality or particularly interesting.  I will also  make posts highlighting what I think are minor yet highly divisive issues brought to the forefront by the media which hinders true political progress.  While my analysis of topics will obviously be biased by my perspective, I will strive to provide sources with high quality information for you to examine and reach your own conclusions.  My ultimate goal with this blog is to bring new perspectives and information to others and hopefully contribute in raising the level of discourse in American politics.
